\"WillieBOB_sm\"<\/a>Willie was our first Whippet. I was about 8 years old when mom ran into Carol Juelfs at the vet when my aunt was taking her dog Ginger in. Mom asked the usual questions like “What breed is that?”, etc and the next thing I know, we are picking him up the next day! He was about 6 months old when we got him, he’d had a broken leg and the bone grew around the pin. Carol thought he’d be lame and wouldn’t be able to run. We just wanted a pet anyway, but decided to check out the different things to do. Low and behold, we were hooked; got and LCM2 (which was HUGE back in the 80’s!!) and a show championship on Willie…and also a CD. He was a very versatile Whippet, my only regret is that we never bred him. Willie lived to the ripe old age of 12 before a heart problem made us let him go. I can still hear him walking down the hallway shuffling his toenails.<\/p>\n
